In 8° (17,2x10,5 cm); (8), 205, (5) pp. Bella legatura coeva in piena pelle scura maculata con dorso a 4 nervi e ricchi fregi in oro ai tasselli. Cornice ad un filetto impressa a secco ai piatti. Tagli dei piatti con fregi in oro. Tagli rossi. Frontespizio entro cornice. Bellissimi finalini xilografici animati. Testatine xilografiche. Prima non comune edizione, tre soli esemplari censiti in ICCU, stampata a Loreto con grande cura tipografica da Federico Sertori, di questa raccolta di poesie del noto letterato e frate faentino, Alessandro Alberghi. L’autore fu un fervente oppositore napoleonico. L’opera è dedicata ai rappresentanti della città di Faenza e riguardano i più svariati argomenti. Molte sono di dedicatoria ai personaggi faentini ma altre riguardano San Serafino da Monte Granaro Cappuccino, In lode della Sag. Religione di Malta, A Ravenna, Il Diluvio, Favola, Il Giardino Pensile, Diana, Cefalo, Per S. Appolinare Protetore di Ravenna ed altre. Esemplare in bella legatura coeva ed in buone ottime condizioni di conservazione.

Naval Staff Histories were produced after WWII in order to provide as full an account of the various actions as was possible at the time. The audience was largely serving officers; some of the volumes were classified, not to restrict their distribution but to allow the writers to be as candid as possible. At this stage of history they represent a uniquely valuable resource. This volume contains Battle Summary 18 (Mediterranean Convoys 1941) and Battle Summary 32 (Malta Convoys 1942), completed by J. Owen and originally issued in 1944 and 1945 respectively. These summaries were combined and extensively revised by Pitcairn-Jones and re-issued in 1957 as Selected Convoys (Mediterranean) 1941-42. By this time Pitcairn-Jones had access to the full records including those captured from German and Italian forces.
