Esemplare che presenta alcuni quaderni con leggera ed uniforme brunitura dovuta alla qualità della carta. Un leggerissimo alone in una trentina di carte al centro del volume, ininfluente e nel complesso esemplare in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione. Testatine e finalini xilografici. Bellissima incisone realizzata da Giuseppe Testana al frontespizio con le armi di Pietro Ottoboni, il futuro Papa Alessandro VIII, nato Pietro Vito Ottoboni (in latino: Alexander PP. VIII; Venezia, 22 aprile 1610 - Roma, 1º febbraio 1691), che fu il 241º papa della Chiesa cattolica dal 1689 alla sua morte. Ottoboni fu nominato nel 1643 da Urbano VIII, uditore della Sacra Rota. "Nel quotidiano esercizio di questo ufficio, tenuto per circa dieci anni, l'Ottoboni rivelò un'autentica vocazione giuridica (le sue consulte, meritatamente famose, vennero raccolte e pubblicate: Decisiones Sacrae Rotae Romanae coram R.P.D. Petro Otthobono…, Romae 1657), maturando una larga e approfondita esperienza canonistica che restò poi sempre, sostanzialmente, a fondamento di tutta la sua attività di Curia e della stessa sua concezione della Chiesa, intesa, prima che come realtà spirituale, come organismo giuridico saldamente impiantato in un corpo di dottrine e di diritti da custodire e difendere inflessibilmente nella sua integrità. L'attività svolta alla Rota e i frequenti contatti con le Congregazioni romane e i vari ambienti di Curia gli valsero il 19 febbr. 1652 la nomina a cardinale e, due anni dopo, il 7 dic. 1654, a vescovo di Brescia. A Brescia l'Ottoboni restò dieci anni, reggendo la diocesi con impegno.". Il volume contiene due utilissimi indici uno per città alla quale si riferisce la decisione e l'altro per materia trattata.
