Good. 48 pages plus 4 pages of specific program information on pink paper separated from the rest of the program. Includes a number of advertisements from local businesses. This program has the signatures on front cover back cover and interior pages of several cast members and others. This copy appears to have belonged to Mrs. Gillette believed to be the wife of Col. Melvin E. Gillette the "architect of Military Pictorial Service" who directed Fort Monmouth's first training Film Field Unit 1937 and the first Training Film Production Laboratory 1940. One note states that Mrs. Gillette gave the inspiration for the show. Fort Monmouth's history can be traced back to the establishment of the Signal Corps training facility in Little Silver in 1917. The installation gained permanent status in 1925 and was named Fort Monmouth in honor of the soldiers of the American Revolution who died in the battle of Monmouth Court House. Fort Monmouth served as the home of the Signal Corps Laboratories and later the Signal Corps Center consolidating several Signal Corps functions at Fort Monmouth. The Electronics Command ECOM was established at Fort Monmouth in 1962 and managed signal research development and logistics support. ECOM was later fragmented into three Commands and one Activity at Fort Monmouth until being combined as the new Communications-Electronics Command CECOM effective May 1 1981. The green clothbound boards are striking with a fine gilt titular motif on the front panel. There is an area of toning to the top and right-hand edges presumably from being shelved. The spine is also sunned but remains legible with a nice gilt title. There is a previous owners ink stamp to the half title in purple ink. The text blocks are gilt and remain bright on the side edge but slightly toned on the top. There are some areas of browning to the internal pages. The frontispiece is clean and in fine condition.
