Good. 12mo publisher's red cloth 607 pp many maps about very good light wear to head of spine "1911" faintly written on spine in white letters; minor rubbing and wear to binding light restoration to front inner hinge 1.5" tear to first map has been neatly mended; ownership signature of important linguist and suffragist M. Carey Thomas 1919 on half title 1857-1935 second president of Bryn Mawr College. In 1908 she became the first president of the National College Women's Equal Suffrage League. She was also a leading member of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. After 1920 she advocated the policies of the National Woman's Party. She was one of the early promoters of an equal rights amendment. On the other hand she was very anti-semitic and instituted policies that prevented Jews from becoming students at Bryn-Mawr and had similar policies and opinions of people of color. Front hinge tender but holding tight. Front/rear endpapers heavily toned. Light bubbling to rear pastedown. 3' x 1/2' tear to edge of front pastedown not affecting lettering.
