C'est la première fois en France qu'autant d'objets d'art en provenance de la totalité du territoire de la grande île sont réunis : l'exposition "Art Papou : Austronésiens et Papous de Nouvelle-Guinée" est ainsi une occasion unique d'admirer ce qu'ont produit ces extraordinaires artistes du bout du monde qui fascinaient tant les Surréalistes. Cette manifestation est en même temps un hommage à la grande diversité humaine."
