On the front flap is a blurb by W.S. Merwin: "A moving and powerful voice one that must be known if we are to pretend to an understanding of modern Latin American poetry." ___DESCRIPTION: Bound in full light brown cloth over boards red spine "label" stamped with gilt lettering orange endpapers; binding quarto size 9 3/4" by 6 7/8" pagination: i-vi vii-xxix 1 blank 1-2 3-235. In a heavy sienna paper jacket Frasconi woodcut on the front panel the same as the frontispiece brown lettering reproduction of a black-and-white photograph on the back panel of Mistral with Dana. ___CONDITION: Volume is near fine the boards clean straight corners without rubbing a strong square text block with solid hinges the interior is clean and bright and entirely free of prior owner markings; some light creases to the first approximately 20 pages at the bottom fore-edge corner the largest just a few millimeters else fine.
