Théron dont la couverture, frontispice, 10 à pleine-page, 2 à double-page et 2 en-têtes, 140 p. Tiré à 160 ex., notre exemplaire numéroté sur grand vélin (n°31) avec suite des lithographies avec remarques. Mondo 5301. Pierre Théron (1918 - 2001) artiste peintre, sculpteur, mosaïste, fresquiste, auteur nombreux cartons de tapisseries d'Aubusson français. Né à Nérac (Lot et Garonne) Pierre Théron fit ses études à l’école des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux. En 1942, reçu premier en dessin au concours d’admission, il obtint une bourse de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, et fréquenta les ateliers d’André Lhote et Jean Dupas. Puis il dut se réfugier dans le Tarn pour éviter le service du travail obligatoire en Allemagne. De retour à Paris dès la Libération, il participa dès 1945 à la vie artistique d’avant-garde de Saint-Germain-des-Prés, et se lia d’amitié avec Boris Vian, le chorégraphe Roland Petit ou les Frères Jacques. Au cours d’un voyage d’étude à Londres en 1947, il fit la connaissance de Marcel Aymé qui restera un ami fidèle et un admirateur de sa peinture. Dès 1945, l’Etat acheta deux toiles de Théron au Salon des Tuileries, et en 1950, l’artiste reçu sa première commande de décoration murale à Bordeaux. Il vécut de ses expositions et de commandes d’Etat abondantes et variées (fresques, mosaïques, vitraux, sculptures, nombreux cartons de tapisseries d’Aubusson). En 1957, il reçut, dans la catégorie Dessin, le Grand Prix des Beaux-Arts de la ville de Paris.
