This very rare publication is staple-bound in plain light blue wraps with black print and is in Good condition. The covers are lightly tanned with minor wear and some creasing at the corners. The staple binding remains tight with no discoloration or oxidation. An organization stamp has been neatly marked out at the bottom of the first page index but the interior pages are otherwise clean unmarked and bright. The booklet contains 29 pages and serves as a guide to figure brasses for collectors offering notes tips and guidelines for making rubbings as well as information on where to find figures and a chronological table of examples. The interior is lightly tanned and the booklet measures 8 x 10. Complete Brass-Rubbing Guide to the Figure Brasses in the County of Buckinghamshire published by Studio 69 in the early 1970s. Includes the extensive annotations of scholar Isaac Casaubon as well as a long dissertation on Suetonius by Boeckler. The elaborate half-title is drawn by I. Schef and engraved by Pierre Aubry 1610-1686. Gaius Suetonius Tranquilius was a Roman historian and biographer whose most significant contribution was his biographies of 12 Roman rulers from Julius Caesar to Domitian. Beautifully printed early pocket edition printed by Sebastianus Gryphius 1493-1556 of Suetonius’ most famous work and one of the few of his texts that survive with excellent annotations by Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam. Commonly known as The Twelve Caesars the work contains a set of twelve biographies of Julius Caesar and the first eleven emperors of the Roman Empire Augustus Tiberius Caligula Claudius Nero Galba Otho Vitellius Vespasian Titus Domitian.
