She was known as June in her family; as a young woman she published 'June's Verses' in 1924 followed with ''More June's Verses'' in 1935 and in 1973 ''June in September.'' She and her husband Court of Appeals Justice John Van Voorhis gave the Wawbeek Inn on Upper Saranac Lake to St. Lawrence University in 1975." She passed away in 1989.
