Ogni figurante è descritto e spiegato nelle ampie NOTE e costituiscono precisi riferimenti, oltre che mitologici, a locali, alberghi e osterie, al VINO e ai cibi grassi, e a personaggi lionesi del tempo. Questo Saturnale fu giudicato scandaloso e alla sua empietà fu attribuita la peste che l'anno dopo, 1628, imperversò in Lione. L'editore però fa presente che la mascherata del 1627, pur impudica, non oltraggiava né il clero né le cose sante.
