Residing in Denmark since 1962. Anne Michaels born 15 April 1958 is a Canadian poet and novelist whose work has been translated and published in over 45 countries. Her books have garnered dozens of international awards including the Orange Prize the Guardian Fiction Prize the Lannan Award for Fiction and the Commonwealth Poetry Prize for the Americas. Seamus Deane born 9 February 1940 is an Irish poet novelist critic and intellectual historian. Deane's first novel Reading in the Dark published in 1996 won the 1996 Guardian Fiction Prize Condition of the drawing is excellent with only minor handling wear. <br/> <br/> unknown

This volume contains Bruyère's French translation of the philosophical work Characters by the Greek philosopher Théophrastus along with Bruyère's own philosophical text. Théophrastus was a student of both Plato and Aristotle and in the work translated here presents his sketches of various types of moral character.
