1939969Y49London: Collins 1939. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Good. 10.5" by 8". Robin Tanner . A delightful first edition work celebrating the village crafts customs and characters of a Wiltshire village. The first edition of this work. With the publisher's original clipped dust wrapper. A charmingly written record of English village life being a collaborative work by Heather and Robin Tanner. The volume is a thinly disguised description of the village and countryside surrounding the Tanner's home located in the Wiltshire village of Kington Langley. It celebrates traditional rural crafts and community and is underpinned by a rejection of militarism and blood sports. Heather's writings are decorated with Robin's beautiful etchings and pen drawings. In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Pages are generally bright and clean with a few scattered spots most concentrated to the first and last few leaves. Ex libris bookplate to the half title page. Near Fine Collins hardcover
