New French Paperback. Roy. 8vo. (24 x 17 cm). In French. 354, [4] p., 8 numerous color plates, 1 CD.

Signed and inscribed by author atop title page. viii, 502pp. Two colour photos. "I have a concern. Was the death of 18,000 Canadian aircrew (in WWII) in vain? Who will carry the torch when we who were there are gone? My position on 'who cares now' may touch a tender spot in some, but my airforce friends did not die in vain. We must be reminded of the horrors of a major war; there is a better way." - from back cover. Light wear. A quality copy. Book

150 pages. Abstract as follows: "The vegetation of the Vernon map sheet area is diverse in response to variation in climate and site conditions. The diversity of the plant cover is characterized by vegetation types. The vegetation of the area is characterized by two Regions: the Dry Interior and Interior Wet Belt Regions. Within each region, patterns of zones (climactic climax potential) and subzones (successional patterns) are recognized. A standard reconnaissance vegetation survey was implemented and 290 vegetation plots were located. Computer analysis of the plots resulted in the identification of forty-five vegetation types, representing seral and climax vegetation in the Dry Interior and Interior Wet Belt Regions. For each type the relationships between environmental characteristics and vegetation were assessed. The evaluation of these relationships is important for the application of the vegetation information to resource management. Interpretations of each vegetation type are made for wildlife, forestry and recreation values. The interpretations provide information which can be used to assess relative values of vegetation for different users." Average wear. Unmarked. Minor sticker residue upon illustrated front cover.
