Dating from 1786 through to the late 19th century. Various sizes from 85 x 62mm to 268 x 163mm. Assembled by Hardwicke Knight. All engravings are loose in clear plastic pockets in a clearfile stationary folder. Includes the following prints with contemporary hand colouring: 1 "Bodinnoc Ferry Fowey Cornwall" T. Allom / B. R. Davies published London: Peter Jackson no date c. 1850; 2 "Penzance. Cornwall" T. Allom S. Fisher cropped close to the printed area; 3 "The Well and Launceston Castle" engraved by J. Greig for the Antiquarian & Topographical Cabinet from a drawing by S. Prout; Published for the Proprietors by W. Clarke. Also 2 hand-coloured maps of Cornwall. The larger map measures 257 x 199mm and has a hand-coloured vignette landscape illustration in the lower right corner and 4 hand-coloured coats of arms - Duchy of Cornwall; Seal of Saltash; Earl of Mounot-Edgecumb; Tywardreth. The smaller map measures 175 x 116mm published London: Pigot & Co. no date c1850. The smaller map has a 3/4" corner missing encroaching a little inside the coloured border into the map proper. Modern ledger-style half calf and cloth lettered in gilt on the spine; leather rubbed marked and a little sunned; cloth a little marked; minor worming to the bottom margin of the first ten leaves with tissue-paper repairs to the first four; first and last two leaves three of them blank heavily foxed with scattered foxing elsewhere; bottom edge of the folding map of Cornwall reinforced with paper on the verso with minimal loss to the bottom and leading margins and some creases along the folds; old damp-stain near the bottom corner of the last 40 leaves; paper infill to minor loss to the leading edge of the second-last leaf affecting the first word of eight entries in the Wea-Wel section of the Cornish-English vocabulary; early tissue-paper repairs to a handful of leaves; overall a decent copy. The early ownership details of 'Glasson Greenbank Falmouth' are written in ink at the head of the title page; later the armorial bookplate of the Blackmore Museum Library Salisbury was mounted on the verso of the title leaf; most recently Emeritus Professor J.V.S.
