2977Lille: F. Bracke 1848. FIRST AND ONLY EDITION of this rare provincial imprint. 80 pp. A SPECIAL COPY ENTIRELY PRINTED ON PINK WOVE PAPER. The only other copy I have been able to locate on regular paper is in the Bibliotheque Nationale Paris. The first part comprises critical commentaries mainly concerning contemporary actresses. The second part is a collection of poems on various subjects including "Les chemins de fer" surely among the first poems ever devoted to railroads. This poem predicts that with the benefits of this mode of transportation France will ultimately reign over the world. Small 8vo. Original wraps. Entirely uncut. Light soiling to wraps else a pristine copy of a very rare book.

Lille: F. Bracke, 1848 paperback
