In The Book He Claimed To Have Been A Soldier In Ireland India And Burma Then A Police Inspector Prison Warden Burmese Folk Hero Survivor Of The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake And Cancer Researcher. After Moving To Los Angeles He Changed His Name To John Joshua David Edward George Patrick Andrew De Windsor And Repeatedly Kept His Name In The Newspapers With A Variety Of Antics Including His Arrest For Shooting Deer Who Were Eating His Plants And Foundation Of A Sanatorium Which He Reportedly Fled Leaving $1200 In Debt.
