Number of the 8th of september 1946 of this daily national sicilian magazine established in 1860 in Palermo and directed by Girolamo Ardizzone. The magazine was established after the arrival in Sicily of Giuseppe Garibaldi.. I compositori sono quasi tutti contemporanei, tra i più famosi: Luis Strabbog (1835-1886), Salvatore Giannini (1830-1900), Benedetto Mazzarella, Benjamin Godard (1849-1895), Luigi Rosati (1855-1921), Francis Thomè (1850-1909), Giovanni Sgambati (1841-1914), Franz Liszt (1811-1886), Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805). Tra i pezzi più famosi presenti citiamo: il Minuetto di Boccherini, Le rose di Maggio di Giannini, pezzi di Liszt ecc.... Bei frontespizi illustrati, di qualcuno è stato conservato anche il piatto posteriore della brossura. Alcuni spartiti della Ricordi e riportano timbro a secco della stessa, qualcuna datata. Signed and inscribed on third preliminary page to director George Cukor by composer/conductor Daniele Amfitheatrof: "For George Cukor as a remembrance of the exciting work on 'Heller With a Gun' With admiration Daniele Amfitheatrof 1959" Amfitheatrof scored the music for the 1960 Paramount film based on Louis L'Amour's novel and directed by Cukor which was released under the title "Heller in Pink Tights." Amfitheatrof 1901-1983 born October 29 1901; died June 4 1983; Russian-born composer/conductor emigrated to the United States in 1937 and conducted in Boston and Minneapolis; signed by MGM in 1939 but waited until 1943 for his first Hollywood film score "Lassie Come Home"; worked on over 130 films.
