191077016Philadelphia: The Electric Storage Battery Company 1910. An early marketing piece promoting sales of the chloride accumulator battery in residential homes. Electricity as its delivered today by transmission lines did not become common in homes until the 1920s. The Electric Storage Battery Company ESB founded near Philadelphia in 1888 sold its chloride accumulator battery for $400 plus installation and the cost of wiring. Pamphlet 4" x 7 3/4": 20 p. with illustrations. Bound with two staples in the original printed paper wrappers. The ink stamps of a Williamsport Pennsylvania "local representative" appear on the front panel. Minor creasing along the extremities; otherwise very good. Scarce OCLC locates only three holdings: Hagley Museum Winterthur Museum Canadian Centre for Architecture. The Electric Storage Battery Company unknown

Original red hardcover cloth binding with serious discoloration to the front board and spine due to exposure to moisture and minor shelfwear; protected in archival mylar. The contents are not affected by moisture. Illustrated by numerous photographs including a medal their flag and officers and many soldiers as well as a facsimile of a reunion announcement. There are several tiny spots of discoloration scattered throughout the text apparently part of the paper manufacture and not soiling or staining. The text is otherwise clean and unmarked. Every still but one has hand-inked numbers or letters at bottom right. “Drums of Fu Manchu 1940 is a 15-chapter Republic serial film based on the character created by Sax Rohmer. Though using the title of the ninth novel in the series it actually is based on numerous elements from throughout the series to that point cherry-picked by the writers. It starred Henry Brandon William Royle and Robert Kellard. It was directed by the successful serial team constituee by William Witney and John English and is often considered one of the best serial films ever made. The story of the serial is Fu Manchu attempts to conquer the world by acquiring the sceptre of Genghis Khan which will unite the people of Asia under his rule.
