Forster in which she recorded her service with the 58th Searchlight Battery during World War II. The 58th Searchlight Battery was based in South Australia. It is believed that the original of this manual is the only one in existence and is now housed in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra' page 1. The notebook commences on 19 April 1942 and continues until 17 August 1943 and covers 'various aspects of anti-aircraft searchlight operation. Illustrates the role of women in the defence of Australia' 'Australian War Memorial' website. With the ink signatures of Nan Monck and Barbara James dated 9 July 1997. Card creased and a little marked; in very good condition. 'On 15 September 1942 this company began its life in the training camp at Scheyville in New South Wales. Later it moved to various camps in Queensland before departing for Port Moresby in December 1942. From Port Moresby it moved to Lae and Nadzab in 1943 and 1944 before returning to Queensland and being disbanded in October 1945' Hansard 18 September 2002 page 6689. The Battery unknown
