Jean-Louis Rancurel, photographe et grand amateur de rock, a assidûment suivi les groupes de rock en tournée à travers la France et sur les scènes parisiennes du début des années 1960 aux années 1980. Il a toujours restitué fidèlement les plus beaux moments du rock français, sur scène ou pour des pochettes de disques. Il est un des photographes mythiques de cette période, tels Jean-Marie Périer ou Tony Franck. Ces clichés proviennent des fonds de l'artiste, elles sont notées au bas du verso : " Patti Smith de Rancurel (JL ) ". Rare ensemble.
