brossura L'Adult Oriented Rock (AOR) è un genere musicale nato negli anni '80 e reso celebre da bands e artisti come Survivor, Journey, Asia, Magnum, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, ecc. È un genere legato alla frangia più melodica della musica Hard 'n' Heavy e caratterizzato da costruzioni strumentali dove sintetizzatori e tastiere hanno un ruolo primario insieme agli altri strumenti tipicamente in uso nella musica Rock. È inoltre caratterizzato da produzioni quasi sempre importanti, molta cura nelle costruzioni melodiche ed un taglio delle canzoni che risulta spesso epico e profondo grazie alla ricercata struttura degli arrangiamenti. Nel libro l'autore tratta compiutamente l'Adult Oriented Rock sia attraverso uno studio ed una ricostruzione della storia e dell'evoluzione del genere sia attraverso una disamina degli artisti e delle formazioni più rilevanti mediante un'analisi di oltre 300 album del settore inclusi in un'apposita sezione enciclopedica. È contenuto nel volume anche un excursus di vari aspetti della musica Hard'n'Heavy del periodo.
