Il saggio fa luce sulla diffusione del flauto in Italia nel primo Settecento e analizza ciascuna delle opere vivaldiane per flauto puntualizzandone destinazione e datazione. Alla luce di questo studio, ben otto lavori finora attribuiti a Vivaldi si dimostrano inautentici, mentre altre opere di recentissima scoperta vengono presentate al pubblico per la prima volta. Vivaldi offers a fundamental contribution to the history of the flute, to its repertory and the development of its technique with 92 works composed for this particular instrument. The essay clearly shows the diffusion of the flute in Italy at the beginning of the 18th century and analyses each of Vivaldi?s operas specifying both the locality and the date. The outcome of this study shows that eight works attributed to Vivaldi are not authentic while other recently discovered works are presented to the public for the first time. 520 gr. x-252 p.
