1909 · 00004135 — On Board the U. S. S. Colorado: A. E. Thompson 1909 Nine issues of The Grand Canyon also spelled Canon on three of the the issues an onboard magazine published on the U.S.S. Colorado. Here are the issues: April June July August October1909; February April June and November 1910. Great marine/ naval/ military/ ephemera paper collectables. The topics are quite diverse ranging from poetry to the history of the ship Cruising in the Carribean and many other places which are told in articles schedules of on board duties of the crew biograghy of Captain V.S. Nelson including an image of him and other officers list of the ships crew. These are unique historical items strikingly amateurish such as a high school newspaper or small press which makes them even more interesting and endearing! The magazines have some photoengraving illustrations and advertisings. The magazine are mostly in very good condition with some creases light stains to boards and very minor stains to text. They are approximately 25 pages and measure approximately 6 inches high with paper and staples for a binding. A. E. Thompson paperback
