Little foxing to front cover and fore-edge, very good otherwise. - Rare author's offprint of an important paper, with his presentation inscription to the German physicist R[udolf] Clausius (1822-1888), one of the founders of modern thermodynamics. The results of the author's investigations laid out in the present publication (cf. Dict. Sci. Biogr., vol. 12, p. 593) are still of basic practical importance today, e.g. in their application to the bi-metal bottoms of metal saucepans.
