Book is in excellent condition with bottom front corner bumped slightly, a little sunning to lower edge are only flaws. Heavy weave black cloth covers with artist's name in gilt. Binding is solid and square, covers otherwise have sharp corners, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Two page intro, the remainder of the book is composed of large plates of Mr. Ungerer's work, one per page on heavy paper. Unpaginated, about 60 plates with bright red endpapers. Handsome book. Dust jacket is price clipped, though the price is still there, with heavy edge wear, small tears at corners, scuffing, scratching. Nice photo of artist at back flap playing with a small ball on the floor excitedly. "Rube Goldberg in the spirit of the Marquis de Sade."
