Lukasiewicz first lectured on this topic in Cracow Poland in June of 1939. Unfortunately all of his books and manuscript materials were destroyed by the bombing that occurred during the German invasion of Poland later that year. In 1949 he revisited the topic in a series of lectures delivered at the University of Dublin culminating in the present book. The book is a fascinating exploration of Aristotle's logic through the lens of modern mathematical logic and is still frequently cited in scholarly work on Aristotle. An attractive copy of this important and influential exploration of Aristotle's logic by one of the leading early figures in mathematical logic.
