RARE comparative study of the dialectics of Hermann Cohen and Georg Friedrich Hegel with emphasis on the Jewish roots of Cohen's thought. Jacob Gordin (1896-1947) was an eminent Russian-born religious philosopher who settled in Germany in 1923, becoming a member of the Akademie der Wissenschaft des Judenstums, and later emigrated to Paris, where he became the leading figure in the then nascent 'Paris School of Jewish thought' which later included Emanuel Levinas, Andre Neher, and other prominent French Jewish thinkers.
