Thomas Tegg (1776-1845) was an English bookseller, author, and publisher. He was prolific and had an wonderful feel for the needs of his audience. In forty years (1800-1840) Tegg, published four thousand titles - most of which sold for low prices and reached a vast readership. La linea e il circolo. Studio logico-filosofico sull'analogia

Il tema "analogia" funge da filo conduttore, pietra di paragone e pretesto critico per una ricerca sopra i principi razionali - ma non per questo "logici" - che regolano nella prassi il modo umano di vivere, di sentire e di pensare. Da un punto di vista filosofico, l'analogia è insostituibile. Essa è il principale strumento di mediazione fra la conoscenza scientifica (particolare) e la coscienza filosofica (universale). In altri termini, l'analogia è il principio di simmetria che media e contrappone logica e dialettica. Secondo Platone, ci sono due diversi principi di simmetria: la "linea" e il "circolo".
