Die Sonne kommt näher; More Sky. - Otto Piene (* 18. April 1928 in Laasphe; † 17. Juli 2014 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Künstler und Mitbegründer der Künstlergruppe ZERO. Er gilt als ein Wegbereiter der Licht- und Feuerkunst sowie der Sky-Art-Aktionen. … Nach dem Abitur 1947 studierte er von 1949 bis 1950 Malerei und Kunsterziehung an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München und von 1950 bis 1953 an der Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. Zwischen 1951 und 1964 wirkte er als Dozent an der Modeschule in Düsseldorf. Von 1953 bis 1957 belegte er an der Universität zu Köln den Studiengang Philosophie und schloss mit dem Staatsexamen ab. Als Reaktion auf das abstrakte Informel gründete Piene gemeinsam mit Heinz Mack am 11. April 1957 in Düsseldorf die später international einflussreiche Künstlergruppe ZERO ("Nullpunkt der Kunst"), der sich im Jahr 1961 auch Günther Uecker anschloss. An der University of Pennsylvania übernahm er 1964 eine Gastprofessur. Von 1968 bis 1971 war er Fellow des 1967 von Gyorgy Kepes gegründeten Center for Advanced Visual Studies (CAVS). Den Ruf auf einen Lehrstuhl an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart 1971 lehnte er ab.[2] 1972 wurde er Professor of Visual Design for Environmental Art (Professor der Umweltkunst) am Massachusetts Institute of Technology, das ihn 1974 zum Direktor des CAVS berief, dessen Leitung er bis 1994 innehatte. Otto Piene war Mitglied im Deutschen Künstlerbund. … Die bei der Gründung der Gruppe "ZERO" vorherrschende Idee war ein von der Ebene "Null" ausgehender kompletter Neubeginn in der Malerei und die Einbeziehung in das künstlerische Schaffen von Licht (und Schatten) sowie - für Piene - auch von Feuer. This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Sotheby's in Milan on May 22, 2007. The sale consisted of the collection of Jef Verheyen and Dani Franque. Jef Verheyen moved to Milan from his native Belgium in the late 1950's. As an artist working in Milan he met Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Roberto Crippa, Yves Klein, Gunther Uecker and many others. He began collecting their works then. 39 works in the sale. All illustrated in color. Many black & white vintage photographs of Verheyen, Fontana, Manzoni, etc. 11" high X 8" wide, 99 pages. Una redazione raccogliticcia che prepara un quotidiano destinato, più che all'informazione, al ricatto, alla macchina del fango, a bassi servizi per il suo editore. Un redattore paranoico che, aggirandosi per una Milano allucinata (o allucinato per una Milano normale), ricostruisce la storia di cinquant'anni sullo sfondo di un piano sulfureo costruito intorno al cadavere putrefatto di uno pseudo Mussolini. E nell'ombra Gladio, la P2, l'assassinio di papa Luciani, il colpo di stato di Junio Valerio Borghese, la Cia, i terroristi rossi manovrati dagli uffici affari riservati, vent'anni di stragi e di depistaggi, un insieme di fatti inspiegabili che paiono inventati sino a che una trasmissione della BBC non prova che sono veri, o almeno che sono ormai confessati dai loro autori. E poi un cadavere che entra in scena all'improvviso nella più stretta e malfamata via di Milano. Un'esile storia d'amore tra due protagonisti perdenti per natura, un ghost writer fallito e una ragazza inquietante che per aiutare la famiglia ha abbandonato l'università e si è specializzata nel gossip su affettuose amicizie, ma ancora piange sul secondo movimento della Settima di Beethoven. Un perfetto manuale per il cattivo giornalismo che il lettore via via non sa se inventato o semplicemente ripreso dal vivo. Una storia che si svolge nel 1992 in cui si prefigurano tanti misteri e follie del ventennio successivo, proprio mentre i due protagonisti pensano che l'incubo sia finito.
