RARE jubilee photographic album with full repertory list from 1984 to 2004 of The Teatro de la Ciudad (Theater of the City) originally built as the "Teatro Esperanza Iris" (Esperanza Iris Theatre) in 1918, one of Mexico City's main public venues for cultural events. The editor of the book - Ricardo Elizondo Elizondo (1950-2013) was a renowned Mexican writer and historian whose work dealt mostly with the northern states of Mexico (Nuevo León, Tamaulipas) and the border. During his lifetime he was the Administrator of the State Archives in Nuevo León as well as the head librarian of the Biblioteca Cervantina at the Monterrey Tec (ITESM) where he also taught. Aside from his scholarship work, Elizondo was a member of UNESCO's Memory of the World Committee and the Mexican Academy of Language. 270x220mm. 230 pages.
