187024
I am not a professional dealer but am downsizing my library which I have collected over some 60 years.

This book was published for 'Beeton's Boy's own Library'. The other books I have seen for sale have been rebound in maroon cloth but this is bound in blue cloth with a very impressive front which makes me think it is the original binding. The 120 illustrations were made mainly from the Zoological Gardens in Regents Park. The edges of the pages are still in bright gold top bottom and side. The spine is loose but the pages seem well bound together. It is scuffed at the top and bottom of the spine and the corners are damaged but the rest of the book is in good condition considering its age. See photos.
Ward, Lock & Tyler hardcover
