Der Berliner Architekt Hermann Fehling 1909-1996 zeichnete für viele herausragende Bauten in West-Berlin nach 1945 verantwortlich. So etwa für das Studentendorf Schlachtensee Gebäudeensemble das Institut für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie der Freien Universität Berlin und das Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung allesamt Beispiele für die sogenannte Nachkriegsmoderne in Deutschland und heutzutage als erhaltenswerte Denkmäler eingestuft. Seit Anfang der 1960er Jahre war Hermann Fehling auch Mitglied der Akademie der Künste Berlin/West. Hier liegt ein Original-Ausstellungsmaterial zu einem der Gebäude vor an dem Fehling mit seinem Partner Gogel gearbeitet hat. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine fotografische Ansicht zum Entwurf für das Institut für Meteorologie der Freien Universität Berlin. Die Photographie war höchstwahrscheinlich Teil einer Ausstellung des Architekturbüros Fehling Gogel in den 1980er Jahren. An engraved print an illustrated flier or Flugschrift reporting a curious meteorological event showing a cross-section of one of the enormous hail stones that fell near Heroldsberg about 11 km northeast of Nuremberg on 13 August 1802. It weighed 2 17/32 Pfund nearly 1.5 kg measured 6 Zoll long and 3 Zoll thick about 15×7.5 cm and was unusually colourful as depicted in the colouring of the print in pink and grey. The print also shows the distinctive layered structure of the hail stoneWith the margins trimmed off removing the thin-line border at the head but without affecting the texts image or the other borders.
