The author is the army officer and writer George Warburton brother of the editor. Written during his tour through Canada Warburton describes Montreal Kingston and Toronto noting contemporary social life and political events including a history of the “rebellious movements†of 1837. His later tours described in part II include a sweep from Buffalo through Philadelphia to Washington and back via Boston to Montreal Dictionary of Canadian Biography. Scarce in original wrappers.
