Very good dust jacket with one 1" closed edge tear. NOTE: Slight toning at the boards. This copy is #158 / 1200 copies printed. It is signed by both the author and the artist. Further it is inscribed to the previous owner and dated Christmas Dec. 1938. The book is designed by August Fries and printed by Kurt H. Volk. The type was set by hand in Elizabeth Roman. The binding fabric is sail cloth and bound at the Van Rees Book Binding Corp. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of book binding where groups of folded pages referred to as signatures are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block.
