Anche se l'articolazione dei capitoli è lineare, il primo introduttivo, il secondo storico, il terzo sul dibattito critico contemporaneo, Valtellina ha cercato di complicare l'architettonica e di sottrarsi ad alcuni canoni della produzione delle scienze sociali, per un verso spaziando tra ambiti disciplinari differenti, per l'altro cercando di sviluppare alcuni raccordi tra livelli interpretativi, talvolta in modo implicito, trasversalmente rispetto allo sviluppo del testo. Nella sostanza vuole essere un'ontologia storica delle disabilità relazionali, la mappatura di un discorso centrale al tempo presente. L'autismo è un hype, qualcosa che insiste nel discorso contemporaneo; quello dell'autore è un tentativo di mappare le prospettive sull'oggetto, di spiegarlo come modalità specifica, di rendere conto di un orizzonte di non conformità alle attese dell'interazione in presenza, di mostrarlo come oggetto.

Edition posthume, publiée par le fils de l'auteur, de ce recueil d'essais formant un "Théâtre des caractères humains" : sur la physiognomie, les "Sexus indiciis", l'influence des climats et des planètes sur les individus, également, sur la transmission par l'hérédité, etc. Ecrivain et humaniste hollandais, recteur du collège de Leeuwarden, l'auteur consacra une part importante de ses travaux aux sciences occultes. Deux tableaux gravés, un en fin de chaque volume, fournissent une vue synoptique du contenu. L'ouvrage fut mis à l'index en 1677. Provenance: Victor de Laprade (1812-1883) académicien (ex-libris armorié gravé) et "Domysti Anto. vienna catal. inscrip. 1731" (petite inscription). Coiffes usées, épidermures. Exemplaire solide, très bon état intérieur.
