Scarce and classic work on ophthalmology by one of the most prominent British eye surgeon of that time, a series of lectures delivered at the Royal Ophthalmic Hospital Moorfields in June 1847, including a Paper on the Vitreous Humor and also a Few Cases of Ophthalmic DIsease.

Pergens. probably Dr Eduard Pergens, Bruxelles), paper slightly yellowed, overall a very good copy. NB: the seven folding plates present are presumably from the first edition in English (transl. Thorpe and Glickstein, Springfield 1972). pp247-255 (part of the original paper) contain the explanation to the plates. In French. Very rare first publication (paper submitted on 27 Nov 1892) of one of the most important works by Santiago Ramon y Cajal who shared the Nobel prize for physiology or medicine in 1906 with the Italian Camillo Golgi.
