Bound in modern full light brown morocco, gilt framed boards, gilt lettering and decorations on spine, in excellent condition, previous ownership stamp on upper corner of title page (Ed. Pergens. probably Dr Eduard Pergens, Bruxelles), paper slightly yellowed, overall a very good copy. NB: the seven folding plates present are presumably from the first edition in English (transl. Thorpe and Glickstein, Springfield 1972). pp247-255 (part of the original paper) contain the explanation to the plates. In French. Very rare first publication (paper submitted on 27 Nov 1892) of one of the most important works by Santiago Ramon y Cajal who shared the Nobel prize for physiology or medicine in 1906 with the Italian Camillo Golgi. Rilegatura moderna tutta pelle beige, piatti con cornice dorata e scritte e fregi sul dorso in ottime condizioni, timbro di appartenenza al frontespizio (Ed. Pergens.), fogli leggermente ingialliti, nel complesso in ottime condizioni. NB: le sette tavole ripiegate sono state presumibilmente tratte dalla prima edizione in inglese (1972, trad. Thorpe e Glickstein). Le note alle tavole sono contenute nelle pagine (originali) 247-255. In francese. Rara prima pubblicazione (relazione depositata il 27 novembre 1892) di uno dei piu' importanti lavori di Santiago Ramon y Cajal che ottenne il premio Nobel per la fisiologia o medicina nel 1906 assieme a Camillo Golgi.
