There are several James Millers in McEwan's 'Dictionary of Scottish Art & Architecture' but only one seems to work with the probable date of the card but he is known as a portrait painter rather than still life. Described as fl. 1853 the SNPG has 'The Duke of Wellington' on a panel McEwan pg 404. He is offered as the best option with very little confidence.
