It was Gore Vidal who suggested to Carr to switch from her work on a Tennessee Williams biography to the biography of Paul Bowles. This book is near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Book has been well preserved for 40 years and is clean throughout with rigid square boards pointed tips and a tight spine. Appears unread. The front free endpaper has a signature and a black marker mark on top corner. Nominated for a Nebula Award. Not remaindered.
