It is the sixth novel in the Narratives of Empire series of historical novels. The story begins in 1937 and continues into the Cold War. It follows the families of Senator James Burden Day and the influential newspapers published in Blaise Sanford. This is the least historical of the series. Two Sisters: A Novel in the Form of A Memoir was published in 1970. It is a novelistic memoir telling of a love affair in post-war Paris; featuring notebooks diaries and vivid fragments reflective of the author's thoughts on love sex death literature and politics. The Smithsonian Institution is an alternative history first published in 1998. The novel is a fictional account of the adventures of 'T' as he helps a group of scientists in the basement of the Smithsonian create a neutron bomb.
