"There are plenty of garden books giving all the facts - for reference... This book is for consecutive reading. The important facts are here, too, but sugar-coated with wise and witty remarks and spiced with anecdotes and other things that suggest the perfuned atmosphere of the gardedn and appeal to the garden maniac... You get the facts in such a pleasing, human way that they are irresistible." - from page xiii.
