This is a very good softcover copy with just light wear. Completely clean. Text mainly in Portuguese with English summary at the end. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro in August through September 2000. Catalogue edited by Carlos Martins, with contributions by a dozen curators and authors including Sandra Regina Caleffi, Aline Carrer, Anna Maria F. Monteiro de Carvalho, Luiz Paulo Horta, Maria Pace Chiavari, Silvia Maria Kutchma, Tunico Amancio, and Vera Beatriz Siqueira among others. Massive survey of Rio de Janeiro, revealed through old photographs, posters, broadsides, film stills, printed ephemera, etc. Checklist with 1159 works catalogued. Almost all illustrated in a section at the end with small images. Also many larger illustrations throughout the catalog. 9" high X 11" wide, 244 pages. Heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.

Text in PORTUGUESE only. This is a collection of old photographs of Rio de Janeiro, showing how the city took shape and documenting it's development through the 19th and 20th centuries.
