Dialogo con la Muntagna", lo spingono a scrivere ancora questo capitolo dedicato alla sua amata 'Muntagna'. Questi anni hanno rafforzato questo legame sentimentale ma hanno anche ampliato l'interesse per le conoscenze scientifiche, i valori straordinari e la grande rete umana fatta di scienziati, studiosi, giornalisti, scrittori, escursionisti, che ruota intorno all'Etna, confermandolo fra i suoi più appassionati testimoni e narratori. Quest'ultimo contributo narra degli ultimi parossismi che hanno rimesso l'Etna al centro dell'interesse mondiale e pone particolare attenzione al momento forse più importante dei suoi anni di lavoro al Parco dell'Etna: la partecipazione attiva alla realizzazione del complesso dossier di candidatura che ha portato trionfalmente l'Etna all'iscrizione nella lista del Patrimonio Mondiale Unesco il 21 giugno 2013 a Phnom Penh, in Cambogia, in occasione della 37esima sessione del Comitato del Patrimonio Mondiale, alla presenza dei rappresentanti di oltre 180 Paesi.
