Prima edizione francese di questo trattato, ormai noto per essere la prima trattazione sistematica delle scienze mineralogiche, e la cui prima edizione apparve a Londra nel 1784 (Ferguson I, 472: "In 1784 he published his book on mineralogy, which had much success as being the first systematic work on the subject in English. Even now it is an interesting landmark in the history of mineralogy, as it shows the minerals that were known, the system of classification and the amount of knowledge of their composition". Qualche mancanza della pelle ai piatti e un uniforme e lieve ingiallimento delle carte, peraltro buon esemplare.
