DONG; it is currently a storage facility only and no longer a refinery text in English; with Observationer Fra Stigsnaes 50 pages illustrated with maps & charts bird activities observations; and the group with Stigsnaes 1979 - 80; 1981 1982 1983 1984 1985 19686 representing Stigsnaes reports 2 through 8; and Stigsnaes flora pa Stigsnaes report Nr. 9. Laid-in is a hand-lettered note from Bent Sorensen to Dr. Berthel Bruun 1937 - 2011 Danish-American naturalist international conservationist and neurologist author of several birding guides. Danish text throughout excepting the first item here. Also laid-in are a pamphlet regarding the Stigsnaes birding station with two paper backing sheets having nine color photographs tipped-on of the site's mobile trailer & informational charts and more of the station. With an appendix of 1982 Ederfuglen by B.M. Sorensen & Jan Woollhead. The 1986 Stigsnaes has laid-in a 10 page stapled copy of Ynglende rovfugle i Sydvestsjaelland 1986 by B.M. Sorensen & Soren K. Pedersen; the reports are all illustrated in black and white with charts line-drawn bird illustrations observation lists & more; the group either stapled or plastic spiral-bound; all approx. 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" size except for the last report on the flora 5 3/4" x 8 1/4" approx.; some light wear and soiling to the covers; in very good condition. Three offprints in original wrappers bound together in blue cloth boards with typed label "Proposed New Birds from South America" on the front. Minor soiling to one front wrapper The first article comes from the Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History May 20 1916 and is titled "Some apparently undescribed Birds from the Collection of the Roosevelt South American Expedition." The other two both from American Museum Novitates Nos. 27 and 58 are "Descriptions of Proposed New Birds from Brazil Paraguary and Argentina" 1921 and "Descriptions of Proposed New Birds from Brazil and Paraguay" 1923. All three have the ink stamp of zoologist Tracy I. Storer on the front cover. Cherrie 1865-1948 was an American naturalist and explorer who at various points in his career worked at the Field Museum the British Museum the Brooklyn Museum and the American Museum of Natural History. He claimed to have gathered over 125000 specimens on 40 expeditions mostly in South America. The three articles gathered here record the characteristics of birds he collected on and immediately following the Roosevelt South American Expedition of 1913-14. The ornithological collections from the expedition included more than 400 species and subspecies some of which were previously unknown to ornithologists.
