2010004843New York: Arthur A. Levine Books 2010. Fep contains publication and marketing information. Back cover is "praise" for a previously published book by the author. This copy describing the book is from the hardcover not included: "Death. It surrounds Pancho. His father in an accident. His sister murdered. His own plans to trace her killer. And D.Q. - a guy Pancho's age who's dying of cancer. That is if he'll ever shut up. Love. D.Q. is writing the Death Warrior Manifesto a guide to living our his last days fully. He needs just one more thing: the love of the beautiful Marisol. But as Pancho tracks down his sister's murderer he finds himself falling for Marisol as well." We had the privilege of meeting the author and having this book signed for us at an author event. It was a small group mostly teenagers and their parents. The author formed us into a half circle and spoke to us read from his book listened to comments and answered questions. It was one of the best author events I have ever been to - and I have been to a lot of author events a lot really. Stork seems to have the unique ability to relate to people of all ages not just "young adult" readers. He was generous in sharing his history as a person as well as his journey as a writer and the story of his book and his characters. If you ever have the opportunity to hear him speak please do so. We recommend reading the book also. It's been described as a contemporary version of Don Quioxte D.Q. and Pancho! by some reviewers. We note only edgewear.
