Eight inch interior closed tear has been nicely repaired. Several small tears along edges. Scale of 120 feet to one inch. Has been folded in quarters but is in good condition for age. Light toning and soiling but overall the map is quite attractive and would look quite stunning is mounted and framed. Original Survey and map were made by J. A. Jenkins in 1902. This tracing was made by Carlos McGuire in 1928. The Peabody Quartz Mine was but one of hundreds of mines and claims in the Grass Valley/Nevada City gold district. Adjacent to the Peabody and noted on the map are the Silver Bar New Idea Cabin Flat Scotia and others. These mines were directly underneath the residential homes in West Grass Valley including the family home of this catalogers' Grandfather. . unknown books
