Vincenzo Gallo, member of a minor convent, was for many years 'magister musices' both in the cathedral and in the royal chapel of Palermo until his death in 1624. This work, his only complete one to have survived, harmoniously intense and melodically happy, constitutes an original development of the Roman polychoral concert style. 514 gr. xxxiv-102 p.
