The working pop-ups are very unique, especially the view down the throat of a fierce and snarling Smilodon. A very entertaining volume. Book

Vol. I: Mammals, Vol. II: Mammals, Birds, Amphibians, Reptiles, Vol III: Fishes, Invertebrates, Insects, Index, Bindings are solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes but slightly faded spines, texts/interiors are clean and free of marking of any kind. Slip case shows the slightest signs of shelf wear only, no tears.

The author, describes his travels to British East Africa, Kenya, and his photographic experiences. He provides a chapter and some plates on the equipment he used. The appendices are on elephants, mammoths.
