The bindings of this series were delicate and most copies encountered were or rebound or quite worn.Important contribution to the Mollusca of the northeastern U.S.A. with the inclusion of several new and rare species. This is the hand-coloured edition (40 plates for the Mollusca section) which is less common than the plain edition. Gilt vignette still very good. The title-page and first few pages with some scattered foxing. The plates clean although some are age-toned.
